** Recipe included in my new low carb, gluten free cookbook, Low Carbing Among Friends. Please check it out at our website @ http://www.amongfriends.us **

In partnership with FaveDiets ( http://www.FaveDiets.com ) recipe site, I wanted to produce an original recipe that was developed out of a comment made on my buffalo wings about using diet orange soda instead of cola. I took that idea and thought about making orange chicken out of the idea. I am pretty pleased with the outcome, but if you aren’t a huge fan of spicy foods, you might want to back off the crushed red pepper amount. Note: even though the carbs are less than 3g per servings, this recipe as made is not Induction friendly, but I have provided the options on how to make it Induction friendly.

The chicken strips sans the orange sauce also make delicious meal too. I was almost tempted to make two separate videos because the chicken strips are that good, but I’ll likely just refer to this one in the future.

I hope you guys like this original creation.

Hiyaaaa! Have you thought about – Fionas fat free family feasts (do a
google search)? Ive heard some incredible things about it, my auntie
discovered some amazing recipes with it.

50hellkat2 says:

You can get splenda soda drinks at Walmart ? no name brand and Costco
KIRKLAND BRAND but not sure about the orange flavour but will check. The
thing about the pop in both places is that it is really cheap to buy. And
has sucralose instead of aspertame.

Kent Altena says:

@TobyMcfarland The Splendid Baking Mix is one you can make yourself. It is:
1 2/3 cups ground almonds (almond flour) 2/3 cup Vital Wheat Gluten (found
in most grocery stores) 2/3 cup Vanilla Whey Protein The recipe comes from
Jennifer Eloff, low carb cookbook author.

Kent Altena says:

@mom3pookies I would make the chicken strips ahead of time (even including
frying them), and then leave the sauce for day of activities.

Kent Altena says:

I do too. How many might have beens do we have to demo at QB before we
finally get one that can stay healthy (unlike Chad Pennington) and has
talent?

Kent Altena says:

@hopefully73 That is a recipe of Jennifer Eloff (Almond Flour, Flax Meal,
Vital Wheat Gluten), but it is not Induction Friendly. You can simply use
Parmesan cheese only instead of it. Use Diet Rite Tangerine soda or diet
cola with Splenda in it would be another option with orange extract. If you
wanted to make lemon chicken, lemon peel would would not be bad.

b4real89 says:

even though this is low carb, isnt it high fat? ..how do you lose wight
with all the fat ingredients?

Kent Altena says:

@magan97 Yeah there are just so many good breadings for chicken. There is
no shortage of options. Thanks for watching!

delillian rodriguez says:

I love this I cant wait to try it. but I have a question, can I substitute
the xanthan gum for corn starch?

bublycat says:

@Hua Liang, that’s because it’s a Chinese-American dish.

Rosie G says:

Looks sooo good! Will try today

Marie Baker says:

I wonder if you can get around that xantham gum by reducing the soda first
before adding the other ingredients! You have given me so many ideas 🙂 I
love your channel!

Anthony Rogers says:

does anyone know where I can buy Splendid Baking Mix no luck so far ty

UmgKh says:

Is the whole dish 469 calories or 1 serving? Thanks again!
