Garden City, NY (PRWEB) August 12, 2014

The power of self-awareness was abundantly clear at NAPW Local Chapter meetings all around the United States as members and guests gathered to explore their passions, personally and professionally, through unique National Awareness Month initiatives in July. From coast to coast, groups of professional women welcomed opportunities to do some soul searching, explore their inner being and help one another answer the question: What’s Your Passion?

“When we take a step outside of our usual surroundings, change our ‘visuals’ and leave the stress behind, self-awareness takes center stage and enlightens us as we contemplate our future goals,” advised Star Jones, NAPW President and National Spokesperson.

NAPW members and guests from West Orange County, NJ to South Orange County, CA, took Star’s advice by tapping into their passions for self-awareness. Original and creative activities such as a networking event under the stars in NYC, an evening of family bowling in Augusta, GA and a Passion Brunch in Chicago, IL, illustrated once again, the dedication, leadership and commitment of NAPW Local Chapters to bettering the lives of professional women.

In NAPW’s Eastern Region, members and guests in NYC gathered for a Midsummer Night on a Manhattan Rooftop Garden where they showed their support for Save a Child (America), a nonprofit that brings awareness to Americans about children in need. “With close to $ 2000 raised, the event was definitely a success!” said Louise Newsome, NYC Local Chapter President and NAPW National Director of Local Chapters.

Professional women In Bowie, MD; Forest Hills and Westchester County, NY; King of Prussia and West Orange County, NJ; Loudoun, VA; Manchester, NH; Scranton, PA and South Charlotte, NC, participated in creative workshops, where some explored their passions by creating vision boards. Others heard from professional coaches and experts on such topics as the Power of Positive Energy, the Dynamics of Diligence and how to ‘Lean In’ to Your Passion.

Guest speakers helped NAPW members and guests in NAPW’s Central Region explore their inner being at monthly networking meetings in Central Houston, TX and Omaha, NE.

Local Chapters in NAPW’s Northern Region did their part in making the networking experience creative and unique for members this July. The Chicago, IL Local Chapter hosted “The Power of Personal Passion Brunch,” combining networking with and a new member orientation. “Everyone gathered in small groups to share how they are living their personal passion. Many new friendships and professional connections were made at this networking brunch, orientation and social event,” said Chapter President Megan Wessels, who also visited the Western Milwaukee, WI Chapter to help members explore their passions.

NAPW members and guests in Orland Park, IL showed their support for the nonprofit, Together We Cope, networked and explored self-awareness as they wrote down goals and placed them in a time capsule. In St. Louis, MO, members and guests enjoyed a night of introspections as guest speaker Dr. Diane Sanford presented ‘Mindful Awareness’ and led the group in breathing exercises.

Things got physical in NAPW’s Southern Region as Augusta, GA Local Chapter members gathered for a fun night of networking and bowling with their families and discovered the invaluable importance of family and friends for personal awareness. Baton Rouge, LA members rolled out their mats and mastered yoga positions and meditation techniques. Local Chapters in Palm Beach and Tampa, FL hosted expert speakers at their monthly meetings and members and guests shared their personal stories of self-awareness and triumph.

Local Chapters in NAPW’s Western Region also gave members and guests plenty of opportunities to pursue their passions. In Pasadena, CA, a panel of three spoke about their personal journeys and inspired attendees with their words of encouragement. The power of three was also evident in Walnut Creek, PA as a trio of speakers offered advice on health and wellness. Expert speakers helped members and guests discover how to ignite their passion in South Orange County, San Mateo and Los Angeles, CA.
