The article states that Brown performed parts of her storybook and cookbook titled, Feasts and Fables from the Planted Kingdom at the Flint Public Library.
The article mentions that Browns book tells entertaining stories about vegetables, followed by vegetarian meal recipes. According to the article, after Browns performance the audience was treated to an array of vegetarian recipes that can be found in her book.
The article states that Brown told the performances audience that she and her husband James, changed their diet and lifestyle in 2004, as a way to better their health, due to collective obesity between the two. The article states that, James lost about 75 pounds, and then Semaj joined in, losing 120 pounds. They haven’t looked back ever since.
