weight loss journey 2013-weight loss before and after pictures-journey weight loss

Stomach fat can be a distracting nuisance. It stops you from looking your best in those skin tight jeans or in that evening gown you long to wear proudly. This excess fat around the stomach can stem from childbirth or improper diet. Losing this embarrassing weight around your abdomen is often a challenge, but there are methods you can employ to shed it permanently.

You body often reflects the foods you eat. If you constantly gouge on junk foods, you will gain belly fat. Cut back on or eliminate fast foods and sweets, and start reducing your calorie intake by incorporating fruits and vegetables in your diet. By eating whole grain cereals and oatmeal you can boost your metabolism and slow down the amount of insulin your body releases. Other metabolism boosters include dairy products such as yogurt and skim milk, and vitamin C products such as grapefruits and oranges. Avoid eating fatty meats. Eat lean meat, such as lean turkey and chicken. Drinking water helps to rid your body of toxins and gives the illusion of a full stomach, reducing the urging to eat as much. Limit your alcohol intake, as this often leads to a “beer belly.” If you are unsure of how to design the right diet for you, you can join a weight loss program, such as Weight Watchers or eDiets to help you plan your meals and limit your consumption.

Along with dieting, exercising will help you to lose stomach fat. Take a brisk walk around your neighborhood, or go to the gym to start burning calories and fat. For quicker results, exercise for at least 30 minutes a day at least three three times a week. Your exercise routine should include something you enjoy, such as dancing or listening to music while you work the treadmill. Some gyms have televisions attached to the treadmills so you can watch your favorite TV programs while exercising. To tighten your stomach muscles, do ab exercises such as bicycle crunches, exercise ball abdominal crunches and isometric exercises (tightening your stomach while lifting light dumbbells).

I’m so proud of you and I don’t even know you. I’ve gained weight in the

change. I believe in other people more than I believe in myself. I’m not
sure where to start, but I pray I can.

Lindsey you definatly ROCK! Hope your surgery was a success : )

carfreelori says:

You’ve worked very hard and improved your health; this is a great
accomplishment. I do believe in health at every size, though I know there
are times when losing weight really matters to health. I’m not black and
white about that issue. I believe that applying oneself to healthy eating
and activity will bring people to a size that feels right and is “natural”
for their body. So I’m very happy for you. I don’t believe in society’s
extremely “anorexic” standard of beauty. I’m not saying that naturally
thin women aren’t also beautiful; they are. I’m just saying people do come
in different shapes and sizes and society needs to accept that people do
vary in what body size is naturally healthy and right for them. If a
person is doing as you did, or as I do which is to exercise and make sure
it’s fun exercise, and eat with a mind to being very healthy, then the
weight will and should take care of itself gradually. I’m all for what you
did because you improved your health and it took lots of strength for you
to do this.
I am VERY very, very impressed with your doctor!! The fact that he said
“you can do it naturally” is just so refreshing to hear! I’ve watched a
bunch of videos of women who had weight loss surgery and sadly many, many
of them have some awful complications and they do have to basically
semi-starve since they just can’t eat more than a little.
I think what matters is that a person as self-love, and approaches diet
from a viewpoint of I want to be healthy and happy though I’m unwilling to
do something drastic or extreme or semi-starve to achieve my goals. I
think it’s really important to present to society at large that there are
many things done, in the name of weight loss and health and looking how we
“should” (sarcasm here) look, that are extreme and unhealthy. Society at
large needs to focus more on overall health rather than “quick and extreme
weight loss”
I don’t know what you did specifically but the fact that you didn’t do
weight loss surgery is awesome. I am assuming you lost the weight in a
gradual and healthy way and I’m impressed by your accomplishment in that

Ray Vachon says:

Nice work! And I’m happy your doctor refused to give you the gastric
bypass surgery. Too many doctors, especially in Canada, push for this,
including mine. I told him I wasn’t interested more than once.

Kay Tee says:

Omg, I’m even more inspired now. Awesome weight loss.

Tonya Daniels says:
